Students in grades 7-12 are expected to complete various acts of community service during their time at Fishers Island School. These acts include, but are not limited to, cleaning up beaches and other wildlife areas, reading to younger students, helping at a local library, and horseshoe crab monitoring. Students who achieve over 100 hours of community service are recognized for their achievements at the school's annual awards night.
Every other year, students in grades 7-12 participate in an overnight field trip for several days. In order to attend this trip, students must complete 10 hours of community service from January until October of the trip year.
