I moved to Fishers Island in 2010 when I began teaching at Fishers Island School.  Before applying for my position I had never heard of Fishers, but now can’t imagine teaching or living anywhere else.

As is obvious to those that know me, I have a passion for history and politics and have a deep desire that my students become informed and concerned citizens of the world community.  I am continually looking for opportunities for my students to broaden their horizons and deepen their literacy in the social sciences.  I continue to be excited about the History Department’s relationship with UCONN, and love when students take advantage of the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.  Outside of the classroom I have been involved in various programs around the school, such as Student Council, Orienteering Club, History Movie Club, and I served as the Assistant Basketball Coach and as Cross Country Coach.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband in the outdoors.  Among our many hobbies, we appreciate any chance to bike, boat, fish, ski, hike and camp.
