Registration Process for the 2009-2010 School Year

As we begin the scheduling process for the 2009/2010 school year, please know that this timeline has been produced to give FI School families an estimate on what to expect this
year concerning the particulars of the process. While we will do our best to adhere to the timeline, there may be unforeseen adjustments to this as we proceed. Please use the school website and hyperlinks to stay updated and informed. As always, please either call or e-mail me with questions during this process. I can be reached @ 631-788-7444x14 or @ g.amaral@fischool.com. I intend to meet with the students in groups and individually during this important process that typically begins in early March of each year.

March 9-13 Parent review of FI Program of Studies (mailed)
March 16-20 Counselor meets with Grades 7 and 8 to discuss requirements and elective area selections.
March 23-April 3 Counselor meets with Grades 9 and 10 (same as above)
March 30-April 3 Counselor meets with Grades 11 and 12 (same as above)
April 6 - 9 Counselor available for individual student/parent needs
April 13 This is the deadline for all course selection sheets (pages 61 & 62 of the Program of Studies booklet) to be turned in (parent signature is requried) to Mr. Amaral in Guidance.
April 20-24 Spring Vacation
April 27-May 1 FI School Scheduling Committee begins to build the master schedule.

Students need to think carefully about their course selections. They need to make sure that they are choosing classes that meet all requirements for graduation and prepare them for their future post-secondary plans.

Parents should sit down with their son or daughter and review their course selections.

Questions regarding registration should be directed to the student's counselor.
